Help a Girl Out: Women in the Word
This week’s Woman in the Word is probably my favorite one so far.
She is incredible.
This woman has shown over and over that she will not give up.
She fought for her family, her friends, herself.
Praise is her weapon and armed with truth, her sword is the Word of God.
She is a force to be reckoned with
This week’s Woman in the Word….
The world may say you are
Maybe someone has called you
a horrible mom
Maybe you have fought your whole life for people to see and understand who you really are.
Maybe you have fought your whole life to not believe it yourself.
I went to the doctor today for my yearly check up (and to learn that I need to start mammograms…)
I looked at my face in the small mirror and said, “You have sunspots, you still break out, you have gained an enormous amount of weight, you have lost all muscle tone, you…”and in the middle of my tirade God told me to take my phone out and take a picture of myself in the mirror.
I don’t do selfies.
But as I looked at myself in the mirror I imagined Jesus Christ cupping my face in His nail imprinted hands and face to face saying:
You my sweet daughter are altogether beautiful, my darling; there is no flaw in you. (Sol. 4:7)
You will be a crown of splendor in the LORD’s hand, a royal diadem in the hand of your God. Is. 62:3
You are God’s masterpiece… (Eph. 2:10)
I am within you, you will not fall; I will help you at break of day. (Ps. 46:5)
You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. (1 Cor. 6:20)
I created you in my own image… (Gen. 1:27)
Remain in me and I will remain in you. (John 15:5)
YOU are a mighty woman in the word.
