Everyday you live you are bombarded with images.
There is an assault on our hearts, minds and eyes when we watch TV, log on the internet, and drive down the road.
Distraction is a super easy tactic of the enemy and he would love nothing more than to get you distracted first thing in the morning.
To get your mind rushing ahead of your body keeps you stirred up.
Come about noon your caffeine has worn off leaving you frustrated, defeated, and irritable.
God is merciful and even though we didn’t choose Him that morning or throughout the day, He always, always, always chooses us.
We don’t spend time with Him in hopes that it will put Him in a good mood to grant our wishes. Our time spent with Him should be to draw us closer to Him.
To know His heart.
So we can then share with others His heart.
One that’s full of love so deep.
It’s more than we can stand.
Setting Christ as a priority also sets us up for His promises.
Matthew 6:33 spells out “ASK”
Ask and it’ll be given unto you
Seek and you will find
Knock and the door shall be opened unto you.
His tendency is to be generous. But because He is a gentleman, the first step is ours.
If we ask…He’ll give it.
If we seek…we’ll also find it.
If we knock…He’ll open the door.
Read Matthew 6:32-34 for yourself and see what God may be speaking to you to take the initiative on. What does He want to do in YOUR life that He’s not able to because you haven’t asked Him, sought Him, or knocked on doors He wants to open for you?
Why? John 10:10 tells us why. God wants ABUNDANT life for you. For all of us.
By doing renewing our minds and spending time with Him we will be able to hear His voice more clearly. Seeking the advice of friends or Facebook won’t be necessary.
Read through these scriptures and ask God to speak to your heart.
Write down any prayers you may have or anything you may feel the Lord is sharing with you.
It may feel strange at first, but just like talking with a loved one, it will become a natural part of your day.
A part that feels just as natural as breathing.
