My mom blessed the girls with a front row table to a live performance of our local theater’s presentation of Cinderella.  Now, these tickets were not just seats to the show.  Oh no…it was a table for the four of us right next to the stage, snacks, (ahem, Princess Punch (water) and Princess Popcorn of course), a Princess parade across the stage and a picture with Cinderella.  What a magical night!  And for the most part it was.  If you count wrestling a squirrely 2 year old magical….

Notice this night comes complete with
Notice this night comes complete with “wand action.”
A princess parade...with a life-sized cardboard cut-out of Cinderella. MIGHT be a little creepy...

Squirrely or not...they had a magical night. And that's ALL that matters.

Things I learned from tonight…

1) Chocolate and popcorn will fix ANYTHING.
2) Princess wands are a great idea…in theory.
3) In reality, they are stupid.
4) Small town theater is fun.
5) Taking a 2 year old to a 5 hour event…is not.
6) Glitter is of the devil.
7) Helicopter Mothers of young girls are so overwhelming.

The girls didn’t care that I had been up since 5:15 am or that I had the only time I’d sat down that day was to pee, or that really all I wanted to do was to sit down and read a book.  They didn’t notice the dirty looks we got from the lady at the too crowded restaurant because all they knew was they were on a “girls date” with their mom and mimi and that we were having the time of our lives.  They relished in the blessings of my mom and the time we were all together.  So, glitter, wands in the eye, dirty looks from the lady at the restaurant aside….

I decided to, too.
