My favorite account in the OT can be found in the book of Exodus
In Exodus 17 starting in verse 10 we see that Moses has advised Joshua on what to do in order to take the Amalekites. Moses found out that while he was at the top of the hill watching the fighting going on, that when his hands were raised in the air, Joshua and the Isrealites were winning.
But whenever his hands fell, then the Amalekites overtook them.
I mean, no pressure.
Being a natural man, like you and I, Moses’ arms got very tired very quickly.
Here’s the beautiful part.
Moses didn’t have to do it alone.
Aaron and Hur stepped up to the plate and each took a side.
They helped Moses by each holding up one of Moses’ arms.
Verse 12 says, “his arms were held steady until sunset.”
The Isrealites were victorious because of Joshua.
Joshua was victorious because of Moses.
Moses was victorious because of Aaron and Hur.
They were all victorious because of God Almighty.
Joshua needed Moses needed Aaron and Hur needed God.
Y’all, we need each other.
Even Moses needed help
Moses couldn’t do it all alone!
And neither can we.
We weren’t meant to do life alone.
And we don’t have to.
