Knowing the young lady didn’t have anything to offer the great King except her presence, she reluctantly accepted His invitation.
Each day she met with Him.
Each day her heart grew at the great love that this powerful man had for her.
Even when she was in a gathering of hundreds of others in her town, He made her feel like she was the only one in the room.
An audience of one.
One day, curiosity got the best of her and she asked her King, “Why me? I lead an ordinary life. I have no connections. I have not much money. I have no authority in my community. My voice is small and soft among the noise of my everyday. What do I have to offer?”
His face grew sad at her question. He finally raised His head and looked her in the eye.
A peace washed over her as He took hold of both of her hands and softly but very firmly said,
“My child. YOU are a Daughter of the King. Any authority I have; YOU have. Anything that belongs to Me, belongs to you.”
I grew up looking at this pin that my mother wore everyday.
Back then, it was just a beautiful silver cross that meant she went a friend’s house on Thursdays for “group.” The meaning was lost on me until a couple of years ago when I got a revelation for what that actually meant.
Daughter of the KING.
Let it sink in for a minute.
By the authority of Christ Almighty, HE has given you all the authority He was given by God.
To do what?
Well, the same things Jesus did in His earthly ministry.
Anything you see in the four gospels.
What a thought!
I know, I know.
You’re saying in your mind as you’re reading, “But Jill! I’m covered in baby puke half the time! I haven’t brushed my hair in days!”
Or, “I’m just a retired nurse. I used to have authority on my floor, but no one listens to me now!”
Or, “Please, my kids don’t even call to check on me or want my advice. Who could I influence, if my own family won’t listen?!”
Recognize that for what it is…the enemy keeping you stuck in a life that is unfulfilled, unfruitful, and unhappy.
You can believe the lie the enemy whispers to you when you fill in his blank: “I’m just a __________”
You can tell yourself that your situation will never change.
You can stay in that situation that keeps you from doing all that God wants you to do.
You can believe God at His word.
You can also rest assured, that the moment you asked Christ into your heart you were sealed with the promise of Isaiah 43:1.
You. Are. His.
Then you can turn the lie around on Satan and boldly say, “Yes, you are right. I am just a _____________. But I also happen to be a daughter of the King. And He says you have no authority over my children, my mind, my emotions, my heart, my husband, and my job. So, devil, because of the power that is in Jesus that is now in ME, you can leave now. Believe me Devil, you don’t want none a this.”
Oh what excitement it brings to me to know that these amazing women, your daughters could get a hold of this knowledge! Knowledge that they do not have to settle for less than Your best. That they, by the power given by You to us, can speak to the mountains in their lives and they’ll be moved. That they don’t have to settle for the lies of the enemy any more. You have already given them life and life more abundantly. It is our for the taking! You are not the author of confusion or doubt or fear. Instead, You have given us in 1 Timothy, a spirit of power, love and self-discipline. Lord I speak a powerful peace over their lives today that everyday they feel stronger in their spirit to step into the call you have on their lives. Regardless of what season of life they are in right now, I proclaim life and authority over them! And all for the glory of Your great Name!
Hallelujah and Amen!
