You know how you meet people and you just KNOW there’s something different about them?
In a good way?
That perfectly describes this week’s Wonder Woman Wednesday. She doesn’t command a lot of attention, but in her humility, grace and unconditional love, you just see that she is all around wonderful.
This week’s Wonder Woman is Mrs. Dawn Geyer!
I first met Dawn while I was a student at Ohio University Southern. I was sitting in my Music for Teachers class when here came this lady pushing a stroller with three small babies in it. The tables were close together in the small room and we all felt a little uncomfortable yet she rolled in oozing with a quiet confidence. I became great friends with this lady who was extremely organized, conscientious concerning her work, punctual and kind.
She is the type of person who was born to be a teacher.
We went about our degree track and a few years later I was appointed to a hiring committee at the first school I taught at.
I was looking at some paperwork when the principal announced the next interview.
I looked up and saw the best thing ever.
I knew God had orchestrated this whole thing and I knew I had to make sure that Dawn was hired.
We could not let her get away.
We did hire Dawn and it started an amazing teaching career where she is currently teaching at Charles Russell.
She loves just by being alive. She and her husband have raised five absolutely beautiful, kind, and ridiculously talented children.
Dawn is truly a presence. I truly never saw her frazzled, or raise her voice, or get upset.
And we share a love of the Library and Basset Hounds!
She is wonderful in so many ways and I am SO thankful she rolled into my life with her wonderful triplets that day in 1998.
Dawn, I see all the wonderful things you do, how much you mean to people, the sweet 5 year old faces you love on every single day and still come home to love on your sweet 5 children you bore.
You are raising up warriors.
God sees you too and He is crazy in love with you.
And with your amazingly wonderful family.
