40 Year Fight: Find Him Friday

Ohhhh girls!  Here we are!
How has your week been?
I am so so so thankful that you are on the other side of this screen with me.
Whether you have had an amazing week full of bliss…God is good.
Or if you have had a week that has just completely sucked the life out of you…yep, God is still good.
We saw that goodness in the unconditional love that God had for the wavering people of Israel.
We saw that goodness again in God’s provision and grace in the life of Ruth.
People will fail you.
But God never, ever, ever will.
As we close out this week with praise and worships, this song is one of my favorites because I love to close my eyes and imagine our Father God singing it over me.
I imagine these words as a holy blanket covering my broken heart or weary body.
A balm to my soul that comes straight from the heart of God.
It carries the theme of our week and this irrevocable truth:
God never fails.
Heavenly Father,
Through our wandering, through our failures, and shortcomings, God you are so faithful to love us.  You are so faithful to hear us when when we cry out the same broken promises time after time.  And you are faithful to put our pieces back together.  Lord I am so grateful that you are not swayed by culture, or opinion or emotions.  You aren’t ever in a bad mood or out to get your children.  I am so thankful that you never waver.  And that you are faithful to lead, heal, restore and love.  Lord while we may not be physically wandering like the Israelites, our hearts and minds are very prone to wander.  Help us when we do stray.  Convict our hearts Lord of words that don’t honor you, actions that don’t glorify you, hearts that don’t love purely, and minds that don’t seek you.  You alone are holy and you deserve all the glory and honor.
We ask that you go before us, preparing a way of peace in our hearts, minds and homes.
In Jesus Mighty Name
