Change of Plans

I had something completely different planned for this week.
It was completely finished.
But God had to get all up in my biz.
The nerve.

Spending some time with Max the other day, I felt God drop this scripture so strongly into my spirit.
We were discussing choices and consequences and emotions and hurts…14 year olds have all the big things too.
So whether you are 14, 44 or 64….we all got things.
And alot of the times we don’t have all the answers, no matter your title, profession, education or training.
I don’t have ANY IDEA what you are facing right now.
Even if you are my closest friend.
There are inner turmoils and choices you are dealing with that only you and the Lord know about.
But I feel just as strongly that God wants me to share this scripture with you.

Deut 30:19-20
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both you and your seed may live.  That you may love the LORD your God, and that you may obey his voice, and that you may hold to him: for he is your life, and the length of your days: that you may dwell in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.

God is setting before you a choice to make.
He wants you to choose Him, of course.
But He’s giving you the choice nonetheless because He desires YOU to desire HIM.
Life and death.  Those are the choices.  That’s it.
Love Him.
Obey Him.
Hold to Him.
He is our life.
The length of our days.
So we can dwell with Him in the land He’s set aside for us.
A million decisions to make to each day.
But really only two.
Are you going to choose life or death?
Let me encourage you with this simple, yet deeply profound idea.
He chose you, hands down without any hesitation.
So to Jesus.  I do the same.
I wave my flag of surrender.
And each next choice, will be Him and Him alone.
