So, what’s the first thing that pops into your head when you think of the word “authority?”
Heads of state?
Super important people in power suits making nerve wracking impulse decisions?
That it can abused or misused?
Sadly now days authority can also be disrespected and devalued.
I mean, have you been in a public school lately?
I really don’t think that the current trend with authority is any coincidence.
Those who have it sometimes abuse it. They use fear or intimidation to get what they want.
Those who don’t have it want it and therefore disrespect it.
Those who see it being used in others may think they are pushy, bossy, overbearing, or a bully.
We have a crazy entitlement vibe going on in our society now days.
“You owe me this, I don’t have to work or pay for it, and since I don’t have it, I’m going to take yours.”
It’s no surprise that the enemy has taken something holy and twisted and perverted it.
It is, after all, what he does…
So what do we do?
–What or how do you define authority?
–-Does it have a negative or positive connotation in your mind?
If it has a negative meaning to you, now is your chance to “rewire” your brain to God’s way of thinking.
–Take a look at these scriptures:
Who: Matthew 28:18–19
What: Luke 10:19
When: Hebrews 4:16
Where: Matthew 6:10
Why: 1 Peter 5:8
How: Ephesians 3:12
–Pray and ask God to show you an area where He wants you to take a stand in your life against the enemy. Are you starting to see that as a child of the King, you are not to be messed with?!
Girls, regardless of what you think of yourself God sees you like was written in Luke:
Oh boy….if you need to print this out and hang it on your mirror and say it out loud to yourself EVERY SINGLE DAY TIL YOU BELIEVE IT….
Did you see it?
The Spirit of the Lord is upon YOU.
YOU ARE NOT TO BE MESSED WITH.
Last, think of the electric company.
They generate the power and they send it to us to use. BUT, if we don’t flip on the light switch or turn on the tv, it’s really pointless to have.
The same is true with God’s power and authority. It has been given to us, but if we don’t access it, it is of no use. We aren’t the source of the power, but we are the vehicle through which it is utilized.
God has given you the power.
It’s up to you now to use it.
I love you all so much.
Thank you for hanging in there with me.
God has so much for us!
